Trillium
Brand Identity
Leaving a lasting
mark on Birmingham’s
dining scene.
Trillium is one of Birmingham’s newest restaurants, created by Michelin-starred chef Glynn Purnell and Loki Wines founder Phil Loki. While the restaurant celebrates exceptional food and wine, there was a desire for it to feel warmer and more welcoming than a typical high-end establishment, offering the same level of quality but with less of the exclusivity.
We carried this sentiment through into the brand identity, with one of our key visual cues being ‘soul stained’. Inspired by the wine stains left on tablecloths after a great evening, these marks became a metaphor for the lasting memories and moments that stay with us long after the evening is over. We created a collection of stains, ranging from abstract forms to floral shapes, using watercolour paint infused with wine itself.
This analogue approach extends across the brand’s other touchpoints, including a hand-drawn wordmark. The brand mark provides a visual nod to the Trillium flower, while also being constructed from three heart shapes, representing the three pillars at the heart of the restaurant: a love of food, wine and good company.
